Children in need

Pudsey comes to the Rescue

The Rotary Club of Lunesdale and the staff at Booths store, Kirkby Lonsdale together collected for "Children In Need" on Friday 15th November. Booths staff were all in fancy dress including the Store Manager, Matt Welsh, dressed as a Ghost Buster character. There was a festive atmoshere in the store and customers were happy to enter into the spirit of the store's competition. Rotarians were at the store entrance with their collecting boxes and together with Pudsey they greeted the customers. Everybody seemed happy to make a donation to such a worthy cause amid lots of laughter and goodwill.

When Rotarian Pudsey spotted a lady in the car park having a problem with her car he just had to help a damsel in distress. He sorted the problem with the car to make sure that she could reach the nearest garage in safety. Well its all in a day's work!

Rotary and the Staff of Booths would like to say a very big thank you to all those people who were so generous and who made the collection so successful. A special thank you to the many school students from the local schools who were also very happy to contribute.

The total collection, beating the amount raised last year, was an amazing £1,469.
