Sight advice walking group
Helping People with Sight Problems

Rotary members lend a hand in many ways within our community and are pleased to help those less fortunate than themselves. Sight Advice in Kendal, which offers help and advice to people who are blind or who have sight problems, have different kinds of activity groups offering various social activities to people with sight problems. One of these groups is a Walking Group. Volunteers are specially trained to guide people with sight problems on walks. This is an activity which gives great pleasure to both guides and those either blind or poorly sighted people. Everybody enjoys the exercise in our beautiful countryside, fresh air, good company and a lot of laughter! Duncan Hamlett and Lilian Barton are 2 Rotary members who act as Guides on these walks and will both tell you how much they enjoy the outings with remarkable people. The photos show the group on a walk at Elter Water on Wednesday, 8th April with the stunning Langdale Pikes in the distance.
