Conquering Kilimanjaro

Gemma Suttle gave a visual presentation and talk on 20th October about her climb to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro the world's tallest free standing mountain at 19,341'. The group consisted of 12 people scaling the mountain via the Nalemura route. On day 5 they made the final assent. The group left camp at 11.30pm and, wearing head torches, they walked for 6 hours with the last 200 meters proving to be very, very hard. Seeing the magical sunrise from the summit made it all worthwhile.

Gemma's climb raised money for Genetic Disorders UK.
